We are
excited to invite you to our
upcoming conference, Positive Deviance
and Better Healthcare,
which is being co-sponsored by the Positive Deviance
Initiative (PDI) and the Plexus Institute
and will be
held in Bethesda, MD
from September 22-24, 2010.
Why is this conference
important?
Professionals in all
healthcare fields
face endless uncertainty, diminishing resources and increasing
complexity
in
their work. These challenges frequently need social and behavioral
change by
the people who do the work.
PD is a process that fosters change from within.
Many wonderful micro-solutions are already in practice in
unlikely places by
people whose previously unnoticed ingenuity can inspire and encourage
others.
What you’ll learn at
the
conference
At this
conference you’ll have the
opportunity to learn about the promise and possibilities of PD,
explore how
to
select an issue and design a PD project, and how to do PD facilitation.
You’ll
also learn about research
methods for tracking PD outcomes, PD in global and
community health, and the relationship and synergies of
PD with other quality
improvement methods.
